Curt, I'm a first time blogger on your site. I have been a longtime fan and it was inspiring to watch your 1 hitter vs. the A's. Keep up the great effort!

Curt,

Thanks for your efforts...you are one of the few athletes who allow fans to view your growth as a person as well as an athlete. I first watched you pitch in my hometown of Rochester...fond memories of the Garage Door and the Distillery. Many of us have moved on for the better. Go Sox!!

Foulke was the MVP in many people minds but he dug his own whole when he said what he said. (The Johnny from Burger king comments) Give it a few years. He will get a standing ovation every time he enters Fenway.

People just need some time to forget. WEEI getting rid of the afternoon crew might also help:)

Hey Curt,

Do you have any plans to bring in some other guys to do Q & A here? You do a great job but I'd like to hear from some others too. One guy in particular is Jon Papelbon. He does some great interviews. Most players post game stuff is boring as hell but his personality and perspective seems to always be fresh, and I love listening to what he brings. Buy him lunch and get him on here.

Mr.Schilling,

I would like to start by thanking you for taking time out of your busy schedule to make this blog and answers your fan's many questions. I truly enjoy reading everything you have to say. I really enjoyed your comment on Woody Paige. I was born in Massachusetts but I unfortunately live in Michigan and have to put up with everyone who hopped on the Tigers band wagon last year. I support the Red Sox and unfortunately the Celtics. I think the Sox have a very good team this year, but ofcourse the media won't say that all they will talk about is how JD Drew isn't into the game and how Manny Ramirez does everything wrong.

Anyway I'm just curious as to your thoughts on what caused the Tigers turn around last year. To be perfectly honest I hated them and thought last years ALCS displayed two mediocre teams. I think Jim Leyland is one of the best managers in baseball, Justin Verlander and Jeremy Bonderman are good pitchers, but what made this team go to the World Series and do you think they will do it again? Also what are you looking forward to seeing out of Dustin Pedroia this year?

Curt,

I'm not trying to nit-pick. If you simply made a mistake in your blog, I'd let it go. But since you made the same error twice, I feel I should point it out to you, just to save you from making it again:

When answering questions about the bloody sock, and the best games you've ever pitched in, you twice mentioned Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS.

Curt, buddy, you didn't pitch in Game 4 at Fenway. You pitched in Game 6 at the Stadium.

Also, please allow me to capitalize upon my opportunity to say to you, "Thank you for getting the monkey off of our backs in 2004. I still tear up when I think about all of my older relatives who lived to see it."

As long as I'm going to keep makingg one more trip to the well... Here goes another question:

I remember reading an article by Jayson Stark, Rob Neyer or possibly Jim Caple a few years back talking about how fans may be concerned with traditional types of cheating, but that players are just as, if not more, concerned with the breaking of unwritten rules about base-runners peeking at signs from the bases or even battters trying to peek at the catcher's set-up.

I know a lot of us have never heard about these types of cat and mouse games that go on. I never knew that players were that concerned with that kind of behavior. I think someone else asked if you had any quick run-downs on the un-written rules of the game, but if you could enlighten us on the things players deal with on the field in the game that fans aren't aware of. Meaning of course the things that they don't talk about on Baseball Tonight.

I also loved your comments about the players you mentioned. Specifically commenting on the great things about them that most people don't know about. I know we'd all love to hear about some of the great things you know about our favorite players that most fans aren't aware of with people like Millar, Mueller, Nomar, Bronson Arroyo, Orlando Cabrera, Gabe Kapler, Tim Wakefield, Mike Timlin, Papelbon and all the rest. I know this is also too big for a short Q&A but someday if you get a chance we'd love to hear more of that.

Please send a big congratulations from all of us out to Kyle Snyder for another great outing. I know it's a tight squeeze to get on the 25 Man roster but tell him we're all pulling for him!

Thanks again Curt. We're all behind you and hope that the simulated game today went well. Keep Pushing!

Greetings Mr. S.

Sox fan since '67

#38 fan since the '01 Series.

"Mrs 67diehard" and I live in Vermont and used to travel to Montreal often to watch MLB wicked upclose for hardly any $. It was a thrill for us to watch RJ (15 k's) and yourself pitch there back-to-back nights once on a vacation trip. Y'know we'd never thought about the strike zone(s) that RJ presents when he bats before that game.

The Big O was a barn, you should have seen Red Sox Nation fill it during Interleague Play. Good town to eat in, eh ? You might have liked Parc Jarry back in the day.

I mentioned Montreal to ask if you could please share a thought about OrlandoC joining the 2004 Red Sox with just a couple of months left? How important was it that he was able to create his own place on that team so quickly and so well?

Thanks again,

best regards

Hey Curt,

First and foremost, thank you for doing this. It gives many of us fans a chance to understand the mindset of a MLB player.

Secondly, I do have a question. I know there is an incredible amount of preperation involved to perform at the level you do.

What does your daily/weekly workout schedule consist of? (Not the mental, just the physical) Have you altered it as you aged?

Thank you again for your writing this blog.

hey man

I'm a diehard Yankees fan, but still appreciate that you are taking time to write this blog -- interesting stuff and very informative.

So here's my question:

What do you think of the 07 Yankees hitting lineup? With Damon, Jeter, Abeu, Arod and Giambi at the top and some pretty decent hitters in the bottom, it seems pretty deep. Your thought would be appreciated.

Thanks
