Curt: I also want to thank you for the thrilling games you pitched. World Series time, my older sister and I are always glued to the TV until each game is over. Baseball is always a fun time for fans, and you've made it more exciting. You know Curt, don't worry about tomorrow, God is already there. He has promised not to put us through what we can't handle. I really believe that and I know He will be with you now to give you peace about surgery, and watch over the surgery process. My prayers are with you. God bless!

It's always good to see people remember our veterans. My uncle fought in the 75TH inf. in WWII, and again in Korea and Vietnam as an Army ranger. most of my family served in a war at sometime in the past 180 years. On this day back in 1944 our troops were in a savage battle to stop Hitlers last gasp effort to turn the tide of the war in Europe. This would later become known as the battle of the bulge. The weather was bitter cold and snow was falling on the troops as they battled the fierce german assault. Belgian civilians and American prisoners were executed in snow covered fields, and many of our troops were cut off and surrounded. Many people have sacrificed for the freedom from tyranny that we all want. God bless all the veterans around the world and have a great holiday and an even greater New Year!

It was an honor to hear you and the others speak Friday, Curt. I only got to hear half of it, (Traffic) but what I did hear was very enjoyable. I live in Baton Rouge, but that was my first time to the museum, and my dad and I are very glad that we attended. We plan to return with the rest of my family soon.

Btw, I heard that today was your birthday... If that is so, happy birthday, and a late happy fortieth to your wife. :)

On a similar note, in Danvers there is an organization called Operation Troop Support. You can get more information from their website at www.troopsupportusa.com. It is a non-profit organization founded by two private citizens to support troops overseas along with family members. It is done by local support groups, care packages sent overseas and many, many other ways. This weekend, my son participated in a soccer tournament that gives its proceeds to this incredible organization. Last year the tournament gave $5,000! Recently, two girl scouts collected left over Halloween candy from elementary students and had a pick up truck overflowing with goodies for the troops and children overseas. Several weeks ago, Terry O'Reilly came and gave autographs for donations. Check out the website and see the great work these people do!

Thanks for the link to the museum--well, you linked it before, but I didn't follow it. I had no idea that it existed. I knew about this one in Superior, Wisconsin but still haven't had enough time to visit it (next year, always next year.)

Those panels sounded dreadfully interesting. At least there are book-links for those of us who couldn't be there to follow.

Curt
Thank you for not forgetting our veterans! My husband is a 24 year retired Viet Nam veteran - it's always heart warming when 'celebrities' publicly support our men and women in uniform

AND THANKS FOR SIGNING WITH THE RED SOX AGAIN

How refreshing it is to see a professional athelete show that life is more important than sports. You and your family remind me of the values my parents taught me about the priorities in life. You have chosen your path well and your work with ALS creates balance which I believe gives you the karma enabling you to have such success in your professional life. The work that some retired Red Sox players such as Mike Andrews and Dwight Evans does proves my point. Please accept my deepest apreciation for the work you and Shondra do, especially off the field. Best wishes for the completion of a great career and a rewarding life after you retire. I will be at Cooperstown in six years to help you celebrate your baseball acheivements and look forward to seeing #38 on the right field upper deck in the future. May God bless you and your family for giving us the pleasure not only just seeing you play, but reminding me what is most important in life.

Thanks for your Dedication. My mother passed away from breast cancer, and I am very thankful that your work appears to be a catalyst to get people to not only care, but be proactive.
