Hi Curt -

Thanks for all the ALS work you've already done - it's truly a blessing that ALS has such a prominent advocate, someone who gives time and effort from the heart. THANK YOU.

We have a friend who has advancing stages of ALS and we know this is a charity near to your heart and the hearts of the Phillies organization.

Would you be able to point us to the right people to arrange a personal appearance by you or possibly one of the Phillies for a community benefit on Sunday, June 29th, 2008? The event will be held in Bucks County, near Philly.

Any help you may have for us would be greatly appreciated! Please email us at mirrorimagesllc@comcast.net.

Thanks

It was rough seeing you leave Curt. Being born and raised a Phillies fan in Connecticut, you were favorite player on the team. Although they were rough seasons, 1992-2000 were some of my favorite years, seeing you pitch at the old Vet. Winning around 14 or 15 games a year, with an ERA right around 3, give or take a little, was a nice asset to the team. It was hard seeing you leave Curt. I followed you while you were on the D-Backs and Sox. As I mentioned in "Intent?", I saw the beloved Ben Davis play for the AA Bowie Baysox and cursed him for breaking up your no-hitter. Your still one of my favorite players in league. Thanks.

Curt,

This is very much belated, but I would like to thank you for all of the work you have done to help defeat ALS.

About three years ago, my uncle passed away from ALS. He was a kindhearted, wise, and had a tremendous impact on everyone fortunate enough to meet him. He volunteered with countless organizations and just wanted to make the world a better place. For what he did for not only myself, but his family is why I am an advocate for those who suffer from ALS. I will be helping to organize this year's "Walk to Defeat ALS" taking place September 28th in South Burlington, Vermont and will represent the state at this year's National ALS Advocacy Day in Washington.

Not only are you a great ballplayer, but more importantly, you are a great human being. Thanks again for everything you do to help those who suffer from this horrible disease.

Now get that shoulder healthy, the Sox need you!!

Hi Curt,
yesterday I had to work , but a co-worker that was off was home watching and called me at work. The first thing I asked, "did Curt get his ring yet and what was his expression?" This same girl at work that gave me a photo mousepad for my birthday knowing how much respect I have for you and along with the other players I love. As she was answering me she said "there is Papelbon!" and again I asked and she described what was happening. Glad that Beckett could enjoy our joy this time and my favorite expression is "OMG Beckett!!!" I am so happy you all were able to receive another World Series Ring in MY lifeltime and kudos to Buckner for being able to throw out the fist pitch and being well received back at Fenway! Man, life to too darn short and I am glad to have seen that sign someone did back in 2004 "we forgive you Bill!" I did get home by 4pm and got to catch the end of the game. Again I hope you get back to pitch for us this season and our luck has changed since you came to Boston!
Good luck this season and GO RED SOX!!! Sharona

Can I just tell you -- I'm so looking forward ot your next post!! And I REALLY hope that it's about your experience of today, opening day. I listened to it on the radio because at work, unfortunately we have no tv (can you imagine, no tv on opening day? The horror!) and so the radio really did the ceremony no justice.

I'm watching it now on DVR (I avoided all media clips so as not to ruin the experience) and what a fantastic ceremony/presentation that was put together, for both you the players -- and for Red Sox Nation.

Did you have a blast or what?!
I doubt it ever becomes "old hat" -- how can it?? Please, do share!!!

Why wasn't Bill Buckner given a ring today. No one deserves one more and it would be a great tribute from Red Sox nation.
